Things you should know before writing the SAT Essay

If you want to take admission in any college of United State of America, then you have to pass a test called SAT. The SAT is a standardized test which is widely used for the admissions in the US colleges after its introduction in 1926. Since then its name and scoring have changed several times, but it is the important criteria of getting admission in the US colleges. Be Objective:

You should know that the topic you have chosen and the body which you are going to write should not start with the “I” or “we”. The colleges do not want what you think about. Try to keep your tone formal and objective for the better clarity and according to the format of the colleges.

Keep it Tidy:

In your entire school life, you may have never worried about your handwriting, but this is the time when you need to concentrate on this too. Handwriting has become the lost art, but the SAT evaluators are still in search of this lost art that is why you should make sure that you give it to them. This is the occasion where you have to show your skills with the pencil and pen. The grader who is going to grade your essay has the duty of reading thousands of essays every day which is why you cannot take the risk of writing an essay which is hard to decipher and understand in the one look. Do remember keeping your essay tidy or else you will lower your SAT score.

Use short paragraphs:

The school could be a thing of the past for you, but there are somethings from the school which can help you in writing the SAT essay. Just revisit your old textbooks and read the old essays. Recall the basic essay structure that you learned in the school and use it. Use the standard essay structure which is the introductory paragraph, body paragraphs and the conclusion. The graders love to see an essay in the traditional format. By doing this, you can increase your chances of getting the high score in writing.

Use Examples:

You have to establish and then defend any statement in the essay. Which is why it is important to use the examples in defending it. Whatever you write in the body paragraph is not enough if you don't back your statement with the examples. You can use the short or relevant quotes of the intellectuals or the experts of that particular field to support your argument.
